Pumpkin Sourdough!

Pumpkin Sourdough

Pumpkin Sourdough

I have been working on my sourdough book all Summer. I have been having so much fun! I want especially to thank those of you who have offered to help test the recipes. I am still only doing a limited amount of testing as I am not ready for full blown testing yet. If any of you wish to add your name to the list of those willing to test recipes, just drop me an email at :northwestsourdough@gmail.com and I will put you on my list. You can be any level of baker, but it is important to have a digital scale, a baking stone, a sourdough starter, and understand at least the basics about sourdough baking. Here are some pictures of the recipes I have been working on recently:

Pumpkin Sourdough:

This Pumpkin Sourdough turned out really nice, it was so soft, like a cloud and the seeds on top gave a great roasted taste.

San Francisco Sharp:

This recipe works alot with timing and has such a great flavor and tang.

I have also been working on a Wholegrain Miche, completely wholegrain with no white flour at all:

The taste of this Miche was complex, with overtones of molasses and malt. However, there was no molasses or malt in the recipe, it was just the natural flavor of the grains. It was a great wholegrain bread that was very satisfying.

I also have a Sourdough Hawaiian Coffee Ring:

This Hawaiian Coffee Ring turned out exceptionally tasty with a carmelized Cinnamon Coconut filling, that left the taste buds begging for more.

So you can see how much fun I have been having. This is just a selection of my work over the Summer. I hope you have had a great baking Summer too. I wish this blog was set up for you to post some of your bread pictures. If you want to post pictures of your breads, you can do that at the Northwest Sourdough Forum at : http://teresal.proboards84.com/index.cgi?  There is a Gallery set up there for just that purpose. I know I would like to see what you have been up to!
